• After orthodontic treatment is finished, a custom-made removable or fixed retainer will be made to help teeth maintain their new position. Retainers can also help treat minor orthodontic problems.
  • What are the types of retainers?
    • Hawley retainers
Removable retainers with attached metal wire across the outside of teeth to maintain alignment
    • Clear Essix retainers
Virtually invisible removable retainers that fit perfectly to the new position of teeth
    • Fixed retainers
Braided wire that is bonded to the inside of front teeth to maintain alignment.
  • What types of retainers is recommended for me?
Our orthodontist will determine which retainer is ideal for you considering various factors such as initial clinical condition, treatment mechanics, final occlusion (bite).
  • How long do I have to wear retainers for?
We stress the importance of wearing retainers for full-time (24/7) after orthodontic treatment for 6 – 12 months. Our orthodontist will continue to see you during retention phase and guide you accordingly.
Retainers are for life! We stress the importance of wearing retainers nightly or 3-4 nights/week to maintain straight teeth forever.

Patient Reviews

I have an enormous fear of dentists. When I searched on yelp for a dentist with good reviews I found Embrace Dental. Dr. Christina and her staff were kind and patient with me even when I was trembling with fear. They never judged me or made me feel any sort of negative way. She is kind and gentle along with fast and professional. Thank you Dr. Christina and team for helping me along my journey in feeling better to come to the dentist. I highly recommend to friends, family, even strangers I run into and have conversations with. If you have fears or any issues, come here and if you don’t, still come here they do an amazing job.

I really recommend this dentist office. Me and my husband and now my daughter get treatments in embrace dental. Dr. Is really nice and knowledgeable. The girls in the front and back are also real nice and helpful. I want to especially thank Tanya for always helping me with all my questions and concerns. She is the best. Thanks embrace dental for taking care of us
